ON CENTER PERFORMING ARTS

CURTAIN UP!

Curtain Up! was founded in 2002 by Lisa Deer as a complete performing arts group to promote the arts to children. However, the talented kids, their parents, and the directors have turned it into a lot more than that. Ranging in age from 6-18, the current 44 members are required to sing, act, and be proficient in ballet, tap, and jazz. They are all honor roll students, they value their families, each other, and themselves, and they know the meaning of hard work and discipline. They have dedicated themselves at an early age to something that promotes respect, integrity, creativity, physical and mental health, and time management. The Curtain Up! Performing Arts Company is truly a unique group of talented kids that have only touched upon their opportunities.

Directed by Lisa Deer and Eden Atwood the company has traveled to many places to perform including New York City . They have performed locally for many events and charities including Southgate Mall, UofM Griz Games, Hospice Ball, W.O.R.D, Families First, Missoula International School , and many more. You can find many of our members in community shows including MCT, Garden City Ballet, and their own school productions. This year you can see their 2nd annual "To Missoula; With Love" an original community cabaret incorporating professionals with the company. They will be traveling to Orlando , Florida this summer to participate in nationwide master classes, performances, and competition.

The main goal of Curtain Up! is to educate. Educate the members and their community in the arts, respect, honor, integrity, tolerance, and more. We attempt this in many ways; through workshops, performances, rehearsals, competition, travel, experience, and example.
